UBC floor-coverers in Chicago are helping building owners wring more life from their current facilities.
With the recession crimping new construction, the members at INSTALL Local 1185 have embarked on a strategy of “Repair, Replace, Remodel” to generate work for signatory contractors through remodeling projects in existing buildings.
To gain market share, INSTALL LU 1185 is contacting facility managers and stressing maintenance, one-stop shopping, and green building benefits that can double warranty life through professional care by certified maintenance technicians. Plus, INSTALL’s furniture division has union carpenters to install and assemble furniture to complement the flooring replacement process.
An added benefit: Carpets that are brought back to life by INSTALL professionals are kept out of landfills.
INSTALL, an acronym for International Standards and Training Alliance, is a comprehensive training program for residential, commercial, and institutional floor-covering installers throughout the United States and Canada. It brings together manufacturers and the UBC’s unrivaled training and skills.
