Productivity: The UBC Advantage

In construction, if you don’t produce, you’re not an asset to anyone—not the general contractor, the project manager, or the end-user. UBC members know this, our contractors know this, and our union’s leadership knows it. That’s why our foundation - the reason we get up every day and go to the jobsite - is to deliver skilled, productive work. And training makes that happen.

Our training program may span the gamut from simple tool use and material handling to extremely technical turbine calibration, but one lesson is constant: Whatever you do, whenever you do it, be the best and be productive.

UBC training is the hallmark of our union.

While our members may have vastly different skill sets, they all share the pride and commitment of being the most highly trained in the most up-to-date theories and methodologies, tools, installation procedures, and safety measures.

It’s the UBC’s Edge, and it’s the asset our contractors can bank on.

The UBC's International Sisters in the Brotherhood Committee is proud to offer an exercise poster to help keep carpenters fit for work.

These warm-up and stretching exercises cover the range of motions common to the work of professional carpenters. Regardless of the type of UBC work you do, these exercises help workers move better, work better, and live better.

Take a look at the poster by clicking here. Once you download, be sure to review the step-by-step instructions before completing a warm-up or stretch. If you have any questions about your ability to perform an exercise, please check with your doctor.

Be well and enjoy the poster!
