Every day, thousands of women play a critical role in making the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America the best union in North America. Sisters in the Brotherhood (SIB) supports female members by providing assistance in obtaining craft training and leadership skills; by being advocates on women issues; and by mentoring new members and even potential members.
Regional councils are proud of their Sisters in the Brotherhood and provide regular updates on their successes, training opportunities, and council updates. Read your regional council’s updates now.
UBC provides important resources to help Regional Council or Local Unions create and manage their own Sisters in the Brotherhood committees. A core part of the SIB mission is encouraging action and involvement at the local and regional level, and this resource library can be a valuable tool for doing just that.
Douglas J. McCarron, General President
The UBC International Sisters in the Brotherhood Committee (SIB) offers opportunities to network and participate in workshops that expose women to UBC history and develop skills to become more active within the union. SIB events, meetings, and resources, both local and online, offer substantive support for women members in every Council. If you have the drive and the can-do attitude to become a true professional, consider becoming a member of the UBC.
Get news and information about the SIB delivered straight to your mobile phone. The Sisters in the Brotherhood texting program enables members to stay in the loop when news about our Union is available.
